Student Management

Tutor Connecxion gives tutors powerful tools to build and manage their student roster.

Overview

The student management system allows tutors to:

  • Invite new students via email
  • Track student activity and engagement
  • Archive inactive students to keep the roster clean
  • View student details including progress and session history

Inviting Students

Email Invitations

The easiest way to add students:

  1. Navigate to Students from the sidebar
  2. Click Invite Student
  3. Enter the student's email address
  4. Add a personal message (optional)
  5. Click Send Invitation

What Happens Next

When you send an invitation:

  1. Student receives an email with a sign-up link
  2. They create their Tutor Connecxion account
  3. They're automatically added to your student list
  4. You can now schedule sessions and assign tasks
Students can also be invited by parents. When a parent adds a child, the child receives a similar invitation email.

Invitation Status

Track the status of your invitations:

ExpiredInvitation link expired (after 7 days)

You can resend expired invitations from the Students page.

Student List

Your student list shows all active students with key information:

Filtering & Sorting

  • Search — Find students by name or email
  • Filter by status — Show all, active only, or archived
  • Sort — By name, last active, or outstanding tasks

Student Activity

Activity Tracking

Tutor Connecxion tracks student engagement:

  • Last login — When they last accessed the platform
  • Sessions attended — Count and history of sessions
  • Tasks completed — Completion rate and scores
  • Messages sent — Communication activity

Identifying Inactive Students

Students who haven't logged in for 14+ days are highlighted. Consider reaching out to check in!

Student Details

Click on any student to view their full profile:

Profile Tab

  • Name, email, and contact information
  • Account creation date
  • Parent linked (if applicable)

Activity Tab

  • Recent logins and actions
  • Session attendance history
  • Task completion timeline

Progress Tab

  • Score trends over time
  • Completed vs. outstanding tasks
  • Session frequency

Archiving Students

When a student is no longer actively tutoring with you:

  1. Click on the student's name
  2. Click Archive Student
  3. Confirm the action

What Archiving Does

  • Removes the student from your active list
  • Preserves all historical data (sessions, tasks, scores)
  • Student can be restored later if needed
  • Student's account remains active with other tutors

Restoring Archived Students

  1. Filter your student list to show Archived
  2. Find the student
  3. Click Restore
  4. Student returns to your active roster

Parent-Child Linking

Students can be linked to parent accounts:

How Linking Works

  • Parents create their account and add children
  • Children receive an invitation to create their student account
  • Linked parents can view the child's progress, tasks, and sessions

Viewing Parent Information

From a student's profile, you can see:

  • Whether they have a linked parent
  • Parent's name and email (for communication)

Why It Matters

Parent visibility helps with:

  • Progress updates — Parents stay informed
  • Session approvals — Some parents approve sessions
  • Billing — Payments are handled through parent accounts

Communication

Contacting Students

From the Students page:

  1. Click on a student
  2. Click Send Message
  3. You're taken to the Messages screen with that student selected

Bulk Communication

For announcements to multiple students, use the Bulk Message feature (coming soon).
