Understanding Billing

Tutor Connecxion makes billing simple and transparent. Here's everything you need to know.

How Billing Works

The Basics

  • Tutors set their own hourly rates
  • You're charged for completed sessions
  • Invoices are generated automatically
  • Payments are processed securely

Who Pays?

If you're a parent with linked children, you receive and pay invoices for their tutoring sessions.

Viewing Invoices

Accessing Billing

  1. Click Billing in the sidebar
  2. View your invoice history
  3. Click any invoice for full details

Invoice List

Your invoice list shows:

Invoice Details

Click an invoice to see:

  • Itemized list of sessions
  • Session dates and durations
  • Tutor name
  • Hourly rate applied
  • Total calculation
  • Download as PDF option

Payment Status

Understanding Status

StatusMeaning
PendingInvoice issued, awaiting payment
PaidPayment received and confirmed
OverduePast due date, requires attention
ProcessingPayment submitted, being processed

Overdue Invoices

If an invoice becomes overdue:
  1. You'll receive reminder emails
  2. It appears in your "Needs Attention" alerts
  3. Tutors may pause new sessions until resolved

Making Payments

Default Payment Flow

  1. Receive invoice notification
  2. Review the invoice details
  3. Click Pay Now
  4. Confirm payment method
  5. Receive confirmation email

Automatic Payments

You can enable automatic payments:

  1. Go to Billing > Settings
  2. Enable Auto-Pay
  3. Payment is processed when invoices are issued
  4. You still receive invoice notifications

Payment Methods

Supported Methods

Tutor Connecxion supports:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit cards
  • Additional methods may be available by region

Managing Payment Methods

  1. Go to Billing > Payment Methods
  2. Click Add Payment Method
  3. Enter card details securely
  4. Set as default if desired
  5. Save
Your payment details are encrypted and processed securely. We never store full card numbers.

Updating a Card

  1. Go to Billing > Payment Methods
  2. Find the card to update
  3. Click Edit
  4. Update expiry date or other details
  5. Save changes

Removing a Card

  1. Go to Billing > Payment Methods
  2. Find the card to remove
  3. Click Remove
  4. Confirm (you can't remove your last payment method if you have pending invoices)

Spending Overview

Tracking Your Costs

The billing dashboard shows:

  • This Month — Current month's charges
  • Last Month — Previous month for comparison
  • All Time — Total spent on tutoring

By Child

If you have multiple children, see spending broken down by child to understand where your tutoring investment goes.

Receipts & Records

Downloading Invoices

  1. Open any invoice
  2. Click Download PDF
  3. Save for your records or expense claims

Annual Summary

At the end of each year, you can download an annual summary showing total spending for tax or record purposes.

Common Questions

Why was I charged this amount?

Each invoice links directly to specific sessions. Click the invoice to see the breakdown of dates, times, and rates.

Can I dispute a charge?

Contact your tutor first to discuss any billing concerns. If unresolved, reach out to Tutor Connecxion support.

What about cancelled sessions?

Sessions cancelled according to policy (typically 24+ hours notice) are not charged. Last-minute cancellations may still incur charges—check with your tutor about their policy.
