Getting Started for Tutors
Welcome to Tutor Connecxion! This guide will help you set up your tutoring business and start connecting with students.
Creating Your Tutor Account
- Go to Tutor Connecxion and click Sign Up
- Select Tutor as your account type
- Enter your email address and create a secure password
- Complete the initial registration and verify your email
- Log in to begin setting up your profile
Setting Up Your Profile
A complete profile helps students and parents trust you. Make it stand out!
Profile Essentials
- Navigate to Profile from the sidebar
- Upload a professional profile photo
- Write a compelling bio that highlights your experience and teaching style
- Add your subjects and qualifications
- Set your hourly rate
- Save your changes
Profile Best Practices

| Photo | Professional headshot, good lighting, friendly expression |
| Bio | 2-3 paragraphs about your background, teaching philosophy, and specialties |
| Subjects | Be specific (e.g., "GCSE Maths" vs just "Maths") |
| Rate | Research comparable tutors to set competitive pricing |
Configuring Your Availability
Tell the platform when you're available to teach.
Setting Weekly Availability
- Go to Calendar from the sidebar
- Click Manage Availability
- For each day, toggle availability on/off
- Set your available time slots (e.g., 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Add breaks or lunch periods as needed
- Save your availability
Blocking Time Off
Need to block specific dates? Use the calendar to mark days as unavailable for holidays, appointments, or personal time.
Inviting Your First Students
There are two ways to add students to your roster:
Option 1: Email Invitation
- Navigate to Students from the sidebar
- Click Invite Student
- Enter the student's email address
- Add an optional personal message
- Click Send Invitation
- The student receives an email to create their account
Option 2: Students Sign Up Independently
Students can register on Tutor Connecxion and search for tutors. When they find you, they can request to connect.
Understanding Your Dashboard
Your tutor dashboard provides a complete business overview:

Creating Your First Session
Ready to schedule a tutoring session?
- Navigate to Sessions or use the quick action
- Click Create Session
- Select the student from your roster
- Choose a date and time from your available slots
- Add session topic and notes (optional)
- Click Create to schedule the session
Running a Live Session
When session time arrives:
- Click Start Session from your dashboard or calendar
- Allow camera and microphone access when prompted
- The student will see a Join button on their end
- Use the whiteboard to explain concepts visually
- When finished, click End Session
Session Tools
- Video/Audio — Toggle your camera and microphone
- Whiteboard — Draw, write, add shapes and text
- Screen Share — Share your screen for demonstrations (coming soon)
- Chat — Send text messages during the session
Assigning Tasks
Keep students engaged between sessions with homework:
- Navigate to Tasks from the sidebar
- Click Create Task
- Select the student
- Enter task title and description
- Set a due date
- Click Create Task
After students complete their work, you'll review and score it from the Tasks page.
Tracking Earnings
Viewing Your Earnings
- Go to Billing from the sidebar
- View your earnings history
- See breakdowns by week, month, or all time
- Track individual session payments
